SCHOOL EVENTS
(C)2000 KUMON ACADEMY. All Rights Reserved.

As expressed in the seven-chapter Student Constitution, the students of Kumon Kokusai Jr. and Sr. High School are expected to think, act and interact with others based on their own beliefs. The autonomy and the self-reliance of students have become one of the school traditions. The spirit is reflected in the fact that the students are actively involved in planning and operating various school events.
Enlivened by the students' innovative ideas
School events are mostly the work of the students themselves. Some of the most sought after posts in the school are the seats in the committees that organize such school events as extention classes called "Interest Studies," Field Day, or School Festival.

* School Festival named "Expression Festival"
A festival where the students present the results of their research, display their artistic works, perform music or "express" themselves in whatever form they prefer.

* Walkathon Day
The goal is just to walk 30 km without competing or any constraint. There are only three simple rules;
  1. not to eat or drink anything except the official food and drink
  2. not to run
  3. to stay behind the guide

Some of the examples are;
--Publication of magazines
--Psychology for junior high school students
--The discovery and roots of mathematics
--Endangered species
--Computer-assisted drawing
